"Wheels of Justice" Bus Tour Rolls in to Portland/Vancouver
Bringing information on Iraq, Israel and Palestine
Saturday/Sunday October 18-19

The "Wheels of Justice"--a 40-foot school bus full of activists and information focusing on the situation in the Middle East--will roll into the Portland/Vancouver area this Saturday, October 18.

Having seen and lived with war, terror and occupation in Iraq and Palestine, presenters in the Wheels of Justice Tour offer first-hand experience irrespective of partisan politics and sound bite sloganeering.

Come and get your questions answered by people with experience in the Iraq and Palestine. Expected in Portland are: Lorna Tychostup: Photojournalist, writer and TV Commentator, Bettejo Passalaqua, Voices in the Wilderness, and Siouxzie Morrison, a U.S. coordinator for the Olympia-Rafah Sister City Project and friend of Rachel Corrie.

The first stop will be Saturday morning, October 18 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Portland State University. The bus will be parked between Neuberger and Smith halls at SW Broadway and Harrison. There will be an indoor presentation at 11 AM on the second floor of Smith Center. Be sure to visit the farmer's market and the Middle East Women's Center's conference (1-5 PM, Smith Center 229).

Saturday night, members of the bus tour will participate in a spoken word presentation at the Red and Black Cafe, 2138 SE Division, from about 8 to 10 PM. (The main performers that evening are the Oratrix Spoken Words troupe, who will give some of their stage time to the WoJ tour.)

Sunday morning, the bus will be at Reedwood Friends Church at 2901 SE Steele from 9:30 AM until about 1:00 PM. They will join the service from 9:30-11, be available for information from 11-12, and join the Friends potluck from 12-1.

Sunday night, the bus will stop in Vancouver at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1220 NE 68th Street, Hazel Dell, for a presentation from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

The bus is expected to return for stops at college campuses on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21 and 22. The members will be available at the Portland State University Cafeteria from 12-1 on Tuesday, and at the Student organic cafe from 1-2 PM.

The tour is coordinated by Voices in the Wilderness, Middle East Children's Alliance, Al-Awda, the Palestinian Right to Return Coalition, and Affiliates of the International Solidarity Movement, and has its own website: http://www.justicewheels.org/ .

Local coordination has included Peace and Justice Works (http://www.pjw.info), Vancouver for Peace (http://www.vancouverforpeace.org) and Americans United for Palestinian Human Rights (http://www.auphr.org). For local info you can call PJW at 503-236-3065.
