PEACEKEEPERS/STAGE SECURITY: (minimum of 20 total needed)

We need twenty peacekeepers for the March 19 Peace Rally and March!

Peacekeepers are needed to coordinate the safety of pedestrians and automobiles along the route. This task is vital to ensure a safe and efficient rally and March.

It is necessary to get coordinated before the event to go over the basics of peacekeeping and the logistics of the traffic requirements.

To that end, there will be a training for those who have not done this before on Tuesday, March 15 at 6 PM; RSVP to get the location to Joe Keating or to Peace and Justice Works (iraq@pjw.info).

Just basic nonviolence, de-escalation stuff, but you must attend a training if you have not before.

To volunteer (must be 18 or older):
Contact Joe Keating at 503-234-2613

Day-of details below.

..........DAY OF EVENT (March 19):

SET-UP/CLEAN-UP

....SET-UP rally assembly site (11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Pioneer Square, 3-4 people needed):
Need two people or more to help be sure traffic and pedestrians and arriving folks know where to go. Help direct Cosponsoring and Endorsing groups to their assigned table spaces, to ensure they unload in the loading dock and take off quickly. Help set up the sound equipment.

....CLEAN-UP (3:15 PM-4:15 PM?, 3-4 people needed):
Stay at the end until the Square is clean
(Overall length of time is probably one hour, exact end of event is unknown, predicting 3:15 PM)

..PEACEKEEPERS/STAGE SECURITY (11:30 AM to 3:15 PM):

(See above, contact Joe Keating 503-234-2613.)

On Rally and March day (Saturday, March 19) peacekeepers will gather in Pioneer Courthouse Square. There will be a brush-up training, and perhaps an extra orientation for peacekeepers, at 11:30 AM.

Dress warmly, prepared for rain. Bring a sack lunch, a bottle of water, and your cell phone if you have one. Some folks will be on security during the rally. Expect to be "on duty" at least until 3:15 PM when the march is expected to end.

------------------

..FUND-RAISERS:
help pass the buckets to make more big rallies possible!
(minimum 10 needed; on-site training required, time/location TBA)

------------------

DRONE HANDLERS:
Two people needed to guide a model drone along the march route! It's safe and it's fun! Contact PJW at 503-236-3065 if you can do this (1:15 set up; march till 3:15 PM).

------------------

STORAGE SPACE NEEDED
After the rally is over, we will need a new home to our signs and banners, which are taking up too much room in the basement where they are currently located.

These are the ideal parameters:
--Storage area in a basement or garage, dry and secure, with its own entrance so 1-3 folks could have 24 hour access to grab things for protest actions.
--60-100 sq ft of square footage, 3 feet high (could be up high if needed) to store 200-250 signs, banners and props for the community
--Ideally this will be witin a 40x40 square block area of the Burnside Bridge so it's close-in.
--Free or very very very low rent

Thanks
